Glad to hear you're giving Lucky Star a second chance ... I wasn't a big fan at first but the more I watched the more liked it.
I saw all the folks with the Lucky Star t-shirts from the Bandai Surprise panel and I was trying to get one but no dice :(
5 CM Per Second - If you miss the first part .. you get lost. The first time I saw it I walked in part way through the second part and had no clue. It's an awesome movie. I saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time that was on the same time as 5CM, and that was really good. Definitely check that out.
Old Farts Panel was the high point, along with Jam Project, of the Con. That guy "Extremely Violent" is my new hero. It was great to see a lot of older folks in there too ... every one was so psyched to be talking about the things they watched when they were kids. I hope they have that again.
I wasn't all that impressed with the Otaku Studies panel. The same presentation is online, and he pretty much went word for word from his site. Also, not a lot of time to actually discuss things. It would've ben interesting to see him and the Japanese Otaku studies guy have a debate/conversation.
Game show - put me to sleep after a while.
Machine Girl - Awesome movie! I saw it a few weeks before the Con and it was hilarious.
